Corniglia
Following
the paths we arrive at the third destination, Corniglia, that
differentiates itself from the others due to its long distance
from the sea. Corniglia has probably roman origins, and it
is situated on a several 100 meters high and very steep promontory
that remains inaccessible from the sea.

If
you want to reach the centre of the village from the railway
station, you have to go up very steep and long stairs.

The
centre welcomes the visitors with low ranges of houses along
the main street - almost the same structure as the other villages
mentioned before. Considerable the church of Saint Pietro,
of 1334, that has gothic and baroque influences, it touches
for its elegant simplicity of the façade with the rose-window
in white marble of Carrara. Inside the baptismal of the 12th
century and a polyptych divided into slices that represent
the Masters. Also the rests of the old fortifications that
overhang the sea and the antique post office of the Fieschi
with gothic arcs in black stone deserve more than just one
look .
