How to reach the Cinque
Terre
Although each village of the Cinque Terre is reachable via
the network of roads by car you have to do long detours. For
the once coming from Genoa: you can go via the (A12) Motorway
and get off at Carrodano-Levanto in order to go to Levanto
and then from here to Monterosso,
or you can get off at Brugnato-Borghetto Vara (A12)

where you arrive at the Aurelia street, take the provincial
street to Pignone and from here to Colle Termine from where
you can reach Monterosso.

For the once arriving at La Spezia - Santo Stefano Magra (A12/A15):
you have to pass through the city center: you arrive in Riomaggiore
following the indications to Porto Venere. Viale Italia, Viale
Amendola and after having passed the "Alberto Picco" Stadium
in Viale Fieschi you arrive at a red light.

On
the left you can continue versus Porto Venere (SS 530), straight
you go to Riomaggiore (with the SS 370 street that goes up
steeply). The problem after the difficult road network is
the parking, so it is preferable to go by train or by steamboat.
